Nappy Riddem has been on fire since releasing the Rock Steady EP in the fall of 2013. Most notably they have joined forces with Junior Marvin of Bob Marley and The Wailers to take the Foundation To Creation Tour on the road. “The Most Jammin’ Tour in The Nation” continues to tour this fall, heading out west to California and beyond. Earlier this year, the Washington Area Music Association awarded a WAMMIE Award to The Rock Steady EP for “Best Reggae Release of 2013.”
The award winning Rock Steady EP was given the remix treatment by a group of five producers from around the world. Bobby C Sound TV of Colorado has turned Rock Steady into an electro-funk dance floor smash hit, a real funky banger. UK production duo Pimpsoul and Mooqee flips Rastaman into a heavy hitting drum’n’bass monster with deep sub-bass. Red Blood featuring Brittany Tanner was a very popular track that Greek producer Kowalski (a.k.a. DJ Tzinas) has reworked into a red hot moombah-dancehall tune sure to ignite dance floors around the world. DC’s own Crafty Daggers (featuring Stylus Chris) transformed Rock Steady into an epic, deep house groove. Closing out the package are Barcelona based Los Chicos Altos and their laid-back, lounge drum’n’bass remix of I Wish.
Nappy Riddem’s distinctive “Dancehall Funk” sound has been reinterpreted and revisited by a handful of talented remixers from around the world, giving a solid package for DJs and music lovers alike. Ranging from house to funk, a moombah-dancehall club banger and two flavors of drum’n’bass means that there is something for everyone.
