about

It’s good to have friends in high places! After a decade remixing the top tier of electronic funk, Fort Knox Five trade places and get the full remix treatment. This album is the ultimate collection of original Fort Knox Five tracks remixed by a who’s-who of veteran dance floor producers and some of the hottest up-and-comers. Consisting of 15 primetime, party-rocking remixes that cross genres of hip-hop, breaks, electro, dubstep, disco and reggae.

Back in 2003 Fort Knox Five did their very first remix for Rodney Hunter who returned the favor with a stunning version of “Uptown Tricks.” The list of similar remix “swaps” by friends of FK5 is epic: A.Skillz & Krafty Kuts, Skeewiff, Dropped (Ursula 1000 & Dr Luke), Deekline & Ed Solo, Kraak & Smaak, Mo’Horizons, BadboE, Dj Dan & Mike Balance and the Ancient Astronauts. There are two tracks that are being released on Fort Knox Recordings for the first time: Krafty Kuts re-rub of “Party Pushers (Smalltown Romeo Remix)” and Skeewiff’s remix of the song that launched FK5’s career, “The Brazilian Hipster.” There are remastered versions of A.Skillz & Krafty Kuts “Radio Free DC,” Mo’ Horizons “Blowing up the Barrio” and BadboE’s “What Make Ya Dance.” And for those who like big tunes, there are two bonafide hits; “Insight” by A. Skillz (#1 on Beatport Breaks chart) and “Funk 4 Peace” by Deekline & Ed Solo (#1 on Juno’s Breaks Chart).

For the first time these stellar remixes have been gathered on one complete package in commemoration of Fort Knox Five’s 10th Anniversary. Hand selected by the four members of Fort Knox Five and placed in order of ascending BPM this is a remix compilation in a class all its own.
